Arlene Norsym Retirement Reception - Monday September 28th - 3pm-5pm
Arlene also has served UIC in too many roles to list here, dating back to 1986. For example, she participated on numerous committees that have greatly benefited our community and has been recognized with many well-deserved awards and honors. She also worked with engineering student leaders to establish the UIC Engineering EXPO, the annual exhibition of senior design projects, and to organize the Young Engineers Network, which established the Engineering Career Prep Day, both of which continue to this day and engage a significant number of alumni.
Loren Taylor, President of the UI Alumni Association had this to say: “In her 15 years with the Alumni Association, Arlene has been a constant champion for UIC and its alumni. She has helped to advance the interests of the University and has been steadfast in celebrating the accomplishments of its graduates. Her service has been both valued and appreciated.”
A reception to honor Arlene will take place on Sept. 28, from 3 p.m. – 5 p.m. in Student Center East. More information will be forthcoming. I hope you will join us to wish Arlene a happy retirement, knowing that her legacy of service to UIC will go on.
Thank you very much, Arlene, from all of us at UIC.
