FYI...The African American Academic Network (AAAN) will host a Parent
Academy program on Saturday, July 31, 2010 from 10:00am-2:00pm in the
Cardinal Room of Student Center East (750 S. Halsted).  The purpose of
the program is to provide parents of incoming freshmen with information
regarding the university's resources that are available to their
students. The activity will also help parents understand the challenges
that freshmen experience as they transition from high school to college.
AAAN is a departmental unit which BAAC is partnering with to connect
with current students.  BAAC's President, Christopher Vaughn is one of
the invited speakers and will be sharing with the participants
information regarding how alumni can be involved in helping UIC
students.
