Dr. Jackson is President of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and former Chairman of
the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission. Among her many significant appointments and
honors, she serves as a member of the President's Council of Advisors on Science and
Technology, a member of the National Academy of Engineering and a Fellow of the
American Academy of Arts and Sciences. President Jackson also serves on the Board of
Regents of the Smithsonian Institution, on corporate boards including IBM and FedEx,
and as Vice Chair of the Council on Competitiveness. She holds an S.B. in physics
and Ph.D. in theoretical elementary particle physics from MIT.
Dr. Massey is currently president of the Bank of America and President Emeritus of
Morehouse College in Atlanta, GA. Among his many civic and corporate appointments,
Dr. Massey currently serves on the Board of McDonalds and previously had been on the
boards of the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, the President's Council
of Advisors on Science and Technology, Delta Air Lines, Motorola and BP. In the
1990's Present George H.W. Bush appointed Dr. Massey to lead the national Science
Foundation.
